Lighting the gas cooker
There is a lighter on one of the shelves above the cooker.
Turn a burner to the right and press it with one hand. Light the gas and keep the button held down for few seconds.
If you release it too soon it goes out.
Turning on the heating
There is a switch on the wall and also one on the back of the appliance. Both need to be turned on.
Site facilities
There are spacious showers, washing machine, tumble drier as well as large sinks.
The whole block has under floor heating. These facilities are 20m from the pods at the bottom of the bank directly behind the Pods. There are steps a few yards to the left of the Pods.
How to make the sofa bed
Bedding is in a bag behind or to the right of the sofa. It consists of a bottom sheet and a single duvet with cover. Use one of the pillows from the main bed.
There is a fabric loop at the front of the sofa. Pull this to extend the base of the sofa. The lower seat cushion folds out to make up the lower two thirds of the mattress. The fatter back cushions are laid flat at the top.
Disposal of rubbish
There is a black bin for general rubbish and a recycling box on the decking area. The box is intended for cans, glass, plastic items, paper and card. Compostable food waste should be placed securely in one of the white plastic bags on the left above the sink, before putting it in the recycling box.
Outside cushions
Cushions for the chairs outside are in the corner to the right of the sofa. Please bring them in when you are not using them.
Using the BBQ
There is a small boxed BBQ in the key safe locker / seat by the front door. This sits nicely on the brick BBQ behind the Pod. After use please return the clean boxed BBQ to the key safe locker.
Keeping the key safe
Please leave the key in the key safe when you go out to avoid the risk of losing it.
USB Plug sockets
Most of the plug sockets have USB connections in them so no excuse for not charging your phone unless you don't want work to call you.
No Naked Flames
This eco friendly Pod was made a few miles over the hill from locally sourced timber. It is insulated with sheeps’ wool which is why, when you turn on the fire, it warms up quickly and retains heat.
However wood and wool are more flammable than bricks and mortar, so bear this in mind when you are cooking. ...and no candles or smoking in the pod, please!
We don't want the people opposite visiting as part of their day job.
